For this picture of Meghan, I decided it would be better to crop Katee out as well as some of the blue sky and put more focus on Meghan as she slides down the sand hill. I also used curves to brighten and darken some of the color to make it pop out more.

For the surfer, I cropped out a lot of the sky so there would be more focus on him and the waves of the water that he is riding.

For this picture of Meghan Treem during a white out, I cropped the picture so that I could get rid of the large blown out snowflake to the left to put more focus on Meghan’s reaction to the heavy snow fall.

Going for First: A Coach's Goal

With the weather getting warmer in March, Blackstone Valley Techs Track and Field team, coached by Jeanette Finnell and assisted by Coach T, takes their first week of practice outside for the start of the 2010 season.



Working with the shot distance runners at practice, Coach Finnell teaches them the importance of staying inside the lines of their lane to avoid being disqualified.



Before Valley Techs second track and field meet of the season against Keefe Tech on April 15, 2010, Coach Finnell gives the 96 members of the team a pep-talk about how well they have been doing so early in the season and to keep up the good work.




At the height of 4 feet, sophomore Sarah White shows off the form that she has learned by coach Finnell in practice to make it over the bar of the high jump.




With help from the rest of the team, Coach T makes sure that the hurdles are placed at the proper height for the 100 meter high hurdles race.





As a coach it is very important to teach good form to team members. As freshman, Lauren Melanson jumps over the hurdles in her second race this season. She slowly starts to gain good form and with more practice it will be great.



As the meet goes on, it is coach Finnell's duty to keep track of everyone's times to put into the schools records. This is important to later find out who will be able to go to States and CALS competition.





With Travis Holbrook in the lead, the boys sprint the last 100 meters of their 2-mile race.

As Coach Finnell grabs some of the final times, the score showed that Valley Tech Boys won 92-44 and Girls won 76-60. If they keep it up, Valley Tech could have a winning season.
